Taipan Rods has adopted the Spiral Wrapped Guide system.
Spiral wrapped rods have been around for some time, although it is more popular with saltwater rods. Spiral wrapping is a casting rod where the guides start out on the top of the rod and spiral around the rod to the bottom of the blank. The purpose of the spiral wrap is to ensure there is less twisting of the rod. Less twisting allows the rod to bend naturally when loaded, which aides in less fatigue from the angler. A spiral wrapped rod also has less guides so the rod is lighter and more sensitive to any bite.

Taipan rods uses Fuji's newest technology in reel seats, the ACS Trigger Reel Seat! The new design and position of the trigger allows the angler more control and accuracy by automatically lining the rod tip with the direction of the cast. The angler also will experience more sensitivity with the exposed blank and at the same time will have less stress on the wrist and arm.
